In the workplace, employers must undertake Noise Assessments, analyse exposure levels, provide reduction measures and reduce exposure time and volume under Directive 2003/10/EC which is transposed in to Irish Law through the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007. The area of environmental noise can be complex and is heavily regulated. Many organisations also face the requirement of undertaking yearly Noise Assessments in order to adhere to the conditions of their IPPC Licence.
