Following the introduction of the European Chemical ‘REACH’ Regulations ( Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals), greater responsibility is now transmitted to industries to manage the risks from chemicals and to provide SDS (Safety Data Sheet) information through the supply chain to facilitate the free movement of chemicals with the EU. Those who place chemicals on the market are now responsible for managing the risks associated with their use and downstream users are also affected.
|
Pilz can assist manufacturers, importers (MI’s) and downstream users (DSU’s) of chemicals to assess the impact of REACH on their business. Utilising our specialist knowledge and industry experience, Pilz undertake Chemical Safety Assessments for your organisation. This can involve: - Assistance in the implementation of Risk Management Measures for Notified Substances.
- Human Health Hazard assessment
- Evaluation of the T echnical Dossier (e.g. Physical, Chemical and Toxicological data submitted for registration)
- Assistance of DSU’s who need to provide information to assist in the preparation of a suppliers registration/chemical safety assessment (CSA).
- Assistance of DSU’s to keep their CSA available and up to date for any use outside the conditions described in the exposure scenario communicated in the suppliers SDS.
|
By identifying the substances used in your organisation that may come under the scope of REACH, Pilz can evaluate the current level of compliance of the organisation with the regulations and as a result of this can also estimate any cost implications to the organisation. Our services can also be customised so that your organisation can receive expert assistance in the required areas.
