The automotive manufacturer BMW has opted to use the decentralised I/O system PSSuniversal with PROFINET interface, with immediate effect. It's a convincing control solution from both a technical and an economic point of view.
The benefits for BMW:
- Simple, seamless and safe integration into existing or new plant structures thanks to the customised, certified PROFINET interface
- Integrated safety principle, in which the head module alone represents the safety-related subscribers; the necessary settings are made at a central point
- Less administrative work in assigning safety-related address ranges and reduced costs, because the safety technology is concentrated exclusively in the head module
PSSuniversal PROFINET is the better alternative for PROFINET users!
